This innovative thimble was designed by Liuxin Newman, an Australian handquilter and metalsmith.She has also developed an innovative quilting technique that saves one's fingers from pricking and cramping. She has written books, Perfect Hand Quilting Without Pain and Perfect Hand Applique. This particular thimble is sterling and is available through Liuxin's website, Thimblelady.com, for $80.00. She has other thimbles available: a Plastic Cone thimble (similar to the silver one) for $14.00; and an Open Cut shape Thimble, in sterling for $80.00 and in 9ct. gold for $ 330.00.
